PUTRAJAYA, May 22, 2025 – The Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP) management, led by Prof Ts Dr Siti Khairunniza Bejo (Director), along with Prof Dr Wong Mui Yun (Deputy Director), Assoc Prof Dr Ganesan Vadamalai (Head of Laboratory SACP), and Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Rafein Zakaria (Head of Laboratory PPD), visited the Rubber Industry Development Division (GET) at the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities to discuss collaborative efforts in advancing Malaysia’s rubber industry.

The IKP delegation was welcomed by Mr. Peter Dennis, Undersecretary of the Rubber Industry Development Division (GET), who represented the ministry in the discussions. During the meeting, the IKP team presented rubber-related research projects and proposed innovative solutions aimed at addressing key industry challenges.

The session also featured a fruitful exchange of ideas on the opportunities and challenges facing Malaysia’s rubber sector. This engagement underscores the shared commitment of UPM and GET in working collaboratively to develop strategic solutions that will support the Malaysian rubber industry.

Through this strengthened partnership, both parties aim to foster research-driven innovations and policy improvements that will support sustainable growth within the rubber industry. The cooperation between UPM and GET is expected to pave the way for impactful initiatives that will benefit stakeholders across the sector.
