| PASIR GUDANG, JOHOR, 20 August 2026 – The Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organised an Industrial Networking and Visit Programme to All Cosmos Industries Sdn. Bhd. (ACI) to provide postgraduate students and IKP officers with greater industry exposure while strengthening university-industry linkages. The programme brought together 20 IKP officers and students, offering them first-hand insights into industrial-scale biofertiliser production, from the use of beneficial microorganisms and production processes to quality control, compliance with industry standards, and commercial product development. The programme began with a company and product presentation by Dato’ Dr. Tony Peng Shih Hao, Chief Executive Officer of All Cosmos, followed by a tour of the production facilities and Quality Control (QC) section. Participants gained valuable insights into how biotechnology and R&D are translated into the commercial-scale production of biochemical and bio-organic fertilisers, particularly in ensuring product quality and compliance with relevant standards and certification requirements. |

| The delegation then visited Arif Efektif Sdn. Bhd. at i-Park Senai, Johor, where participants observed the processing of biological materials, particularly the production of microorganisms through fermentation. The visit provided a closer look at the upstream process, including the cultivation and processing of microorganisms for use as biological inputs in a range of commercial products, including bio-organic fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, and other biotechnology-based applications. Beyond enhancing participants’ understanding of the biofertiliser production chain, the programme strengthened the strategic relationship between IKP and All Cosmos Industries and opened up opportunities for more structured future collaboration. Overall, the visit reinforced university-industry linkages, enhanced the relevance of IKP’s research to industry needs, and provided postgraduate students with valuable industry exposure to develop the knowledge and competencies needed in the sector. |
