SERDANG, 1^st September — The Institute of Plantation Studies (IPS), Universiti Putra Malaysia, proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to our Director, Prof. Ts. Dr. Siti Khairunniza Bejo, on her appointment as Adjunct Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Chennai, India, for a period of three years.

VIT Chennai is a premier private deemed university located in Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the campuses of Vellore Institute of Technology, originally established in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College and the Chennai campus was founded in 2010 which has quickly risen to prominence as one of India’s top engineering and technology institutions.

This prestigious appointment acknowledges Prof. Khairunniza’s outstanding contributions to academia and her leadership in advancing agricultural innovation. Her role as Adjunct Professor will focus on collaborative research and teaching, strengthening inter-institutional partnerships and enriching the academic experience for both students and researchers.

Prof. Khairunniza specializes in imaging technology, precision agriculture, remote sensing, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). Her research demonstrates how digitalization can transform agriculture, making the sector more resilient and better prepared for future challenges.

IKP believes this appointment will open new opportunities for meaningful knowledge exchange and joint research initiatives between UPM and VIT. May this collaboration bring positive impact to the global research community and further elevate UPM’s international standing.
