SERDANG, 7 July 2026- Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP) had the honour of welcoming a delegation from the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences Rubber Research Institute (CATASRRI) during an official visit to IKP. The visit marked an important opportunity to strengthen relationships, exchange knowledge, and explore potential areas of collaboration in research, innovation, and sustainable agricultural development. The CATASRRI delegation was led by Prof. Wang Lifeng, Head of Latex Harvesting Division CATASRRI, together with accompanying officers and researchers. The visitors were warmly received by IKP management and staff, who provided an overview of the organisation's ongoing initiatives, achievements, and strategic priorities. During the visit, both parties engaged in productive discussions on areas of mutual interest, including agricultural research, technology development, capacity building, and opportunities for future cooperation. The exchange of expertise and experiences highlighted the shared commitment of IKP and CATASRRI to advancing innovation and supporting sustainable growth within the agricultural sector. During the discussion, the CATASRRI researchers looking to understand the macro landscape, the socioeconomic and agroeconomic realities of the Malaysian rubber industry, along with the specific government interventions designed to uplift smallholders. IKP expressed its appreciation to the CATAS delegation for their visit and looks forward to further strengthening collaboration in the future. The engagement reflects IKP’s continued commitment to building strategic partnerships with international institutions to drive excellence in research, innovation, and industry development.
