Event Summary
SERDANG, 6 April 2026 – The Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), recently conducted a Qibla Direction Determination Programme at the IKP premises in collaboration with the Persatuan Jurufalak Syarie. Led by experienced jurufalak Mr. Jusrizalman Jamaludin, the programme utilized the sun shadow method to accurately determine the Qibla direction. This traditional technique provides a reliable reference and greater confidence to the IKP community in ensuring the correct Qibla alignment.
The programme also highlighted the importance of Qibla accuracy in Islamic worship and provided valuable exposure to the role of ilmu falak in daily life. Through this initiative, the IKP community can perform prayers with greater confidence and peace of mind, while the programme reflects IKP UPM’s commitment to supporting the spiritual well-being of its community and promoting the importance of accurate religious practices.
