SERDANG, Feb 1^st - The Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP) in collaboration with the Editorial and Production Section, UPM Press Center organized a Briefing on Theses to Book Conversion on the 1^st February 2024 at the IKP Meeting Room. This program received a favorable response from 18 participants consisting of lecturers, research officers, and graduate students of IKP. The main goal of this program was to expose the benefits and importance of books published from a thesis for greater knowledge dissemination among the public and community. Hopefully, the program could increase the interest of IKP students to transform their thesis into a book that can benefit a different target reader.

The guest speaker for this program was Mrs. Hani Farahin Ismail, the Head of the Editorial and Production Section, and assisted by Mrs. Dianna Waty Ibrahim and Mrs. Noor Sholihah Mohamed Daud. The whole conversion process from thesis to books was elaborated in detailed to the audiences. Even though the process of drafting a book from a thesis can be very challenging for academicians and students, it offers great benefit since the book is written using simple language where the goal is to make the information easier to understand.
