The training served as a proactive measure against potential chemical-related occupational hazards. Unintentional spills can pose significant risks to personnel safety, environmental integrity, and operational continuity. Hence, the program was designed to reinforce participants' knowledge and skills in handling spills effectively and safely. This initiative aligns with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994) and relevant regulations that mandate employer responsibility in ensuring workplace safety and health. Objectives of the Training Including:

• Providing foundational knowledge of various chemicals and the risks associated with spills
• Enhancing understanding of emergency procedures during spill incidents
• Introducing proper and effective spill kit usage
• Training staff to respond promptly, safely, and systematically to chemical spill scenarios
• Promoting a safety-oriented work culture and reinforcing awareness of responsibilities during emergencies

It is hoped that similar training sessions will be conducted periodically to ensure all staff and students of IKP remain well-prepared and competent in dealing with potential chemical spill incidents in the future.
