SERDANG, February, 28^th - Audit of Occupational Safety and Health (PKK) at the university level was successfully conducted at the Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP). The audit team consisted of seven auditors from the Occupational Safety and Health Management Office (PPKKP), led by Mr. Mohd Azman Ahmad, and an invited auditor from the University Community Transformation Centre (UCTC), Mrs. Khadzamah Khalid. The audit was conducted on all laboratories, the transgenic greenhouse, the management office of IKP, and all other buildings in IKP.

The audit was conducted on seven main components as listed below:

1. Fire Service Act Compliance: Fire Prevention System
2. Compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, the UPM Occupational Safety and Health Manual 2010 and the UPM Disaster Management Plan 2022
3. Compliance with the Factories and Machinery Act 1967
4. Compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemical Hazardous to Health) Regulations 2000 (USECHH Regulations)
5. Compliance with the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Waste) Regulations 2005
6. Compliance with the Biosafety Act 2007
7. Past Action Review

The findings from the audit were presented by the Lead Auditor, Mr. Mohd Azman Ahmad to the IKP staff. Based on the findings, the auditors concluded that IKP has successfully maintained its excellent status for this time. IKP staff are determined to strive to maintain the highest level of safety in the IKP environment to create a safe and healthy work culture.
