May, 21-25- Two researchers from Laboratory of Sustainable Agronomy and Crop Protection, Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP), Prof. Dr. Wong Mui Yun and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ganesan Vadamalai won a silver award in the international innovation exposition, Malaysia Technology Expo 2022 (MTE 2022) with the innovation entitled “A Novel Protoplast Transformation Technology for Ganoderm boninense”.  The expo was held virtually from 21 to 25 May 2022.

This innovation resulted from a collaborative project with researchers from Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Mr. Lim Fook Hwa, Dr. Omar Abd. Rasid, Dr. Idris Abu Seman and Datuk Dr. Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir. In addition, Dr. Mohd As’wad Abdul Wahab, a researcher from Faculty of Agriculture, UPM, also involved in this invasion project.
