For the first time, the Institute of Plantation Studies organized a series of activities in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan. The welcoming Ramadan program, communal cooking of bubur lambuk, and traditional preparation of kuih bakar were the main highlights that successfully brought together staff and students in a spirit of unity and goodwill. These activities not only revived cherished traditions rich in communal values but also served as a meaningful platform to strengthen relationships among members of the institute. The bubur lambuk, cooked collectively in large pots, symbolized teamwork and cooperation, while the traditional kuih bakar preparation offered younger generations a chance to reconnect with culinary heritage that is slowly fading. More than just cooking, the events became a space for sharing stories, laughter, and camaraderie—making the experience all the more memorable. Throughout Ramadan, the institute was filled with a family-like atmosphere, as staff and students worked hand in hand to ensure the success of each program. The success of this initiative clearly demonstrates how such activities can foster stronger bonds, instill noble values like mutual help, respect for tradition, and a culture of collaboration. It is hoped that these efforts will continue in the future, turning Ramadan into a meaningful platform for unity and harmony. With such positive reception, the Institute of Plantation Studies is confident that these activities will become an annual tradition eagerly anticipated by all. |
