July 13 – Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP) in collaboration with Putra Agriculture Centre (PPP), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has been organised the Workshop on Production of Compost & Nutrient Organic Nutrient from 11 to 12 July 2023 at Vegetables Unit, PAC. This workshop aimed to provide knowledge and technique on composting process and exposure on the microbe-based agricultural technology for plant growth. This workshop provided theoretical knowledge combined with the essential practical session related to the production of compost and plant booster.

The sharing sessions were delivered by an experiences UPM officers including Dr. Ali Tan Kee Zuan (Department of Land Management, Faculty of Agriculture), Dr. Mohd Huzairi Mohd Zainudin (Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security), Mr. Sayyidina Hamzah Muhamad (Putra Agriculture Centre) and Mr. Mohd Hafif Samsudin (Biorefinery Complex). This workshop was participated by many officers’ form various agricultural companies, government agencies and postgraduate students of UPM. This workshop provides platform to the participants to further understand the concept, techniques in composting process using both manual and machineries, and the importance of utilising effective microbes and plant booster to the plants in enhancing its growth.
