KOTA KINABALU, Feb 20th – Associate Professor Dr. Nazmi Mat Nawi (Head, Laboratory of Plantation System Technology and Mechanization) and Dr. Zailani Khuzaimah (research officer) from Institute of Plantation Studies (IKP) were invited as invited speakers in the "Seminar on Sustainability in Cocoa Supply Chain Through Advance Technology: Consultant with Industry on Cocoa with Advance Technology 2024” (CICAT2024). The event was organized by the Malaysian Cocoa Board (LKM) and held at the Le Meridien Hotel, Kota Kinabalu.
Topics presented were "Adoption of an Appropriate Mechanization Technology for Sustainable Cocoa Plantation in Malaysia: Potentials and Challenges" (by Associate Professor Dr. Nazmi Mat Nawi) and "The Potential use of LiDAR Technology for Cocoa Plantation Management" (by Dr. Zailani Khuzaimah). Topic presented benefited an audience of 200 participants consisting of farmers and entrepreneurs involved in the Malaysian cocoa industry.
